Toll tags for France

Post by verysideways »

If you're thinking of coming on a European tour with us, or if you just happen to be driving across France, we can thoroughly recommend getting a toll tag.

Image

You simply stick it to the inside of your windscreen and then drive up to the barrier at the toll booths - the device beeps, the barrier opens, and off you go again.

You don't need to open a window, or undo your seatbelt, or get out of the car (in the pouring rain!) to get a ticket from the machine or throw coins into a basket.

And, if you use this link you'll get €5 off your fees:

You're welcome :)

Worked brilliantly for me this year. Any idea how long the battery is expected to last? Have a gnawing fear of pulling up to the toll and the beep failing to arrive.....

My battery has just died after 7 years!

Which I hear is about the norm

I just buy my vignette at the first Swiss petrol station. Easy peasy :)

Yup - the same link works for both French toll tags and Spanish toll tags.
Once you order they usually come through within a few days, you then need to activate them before you use them.

Thankfully the french tags and spanish tags use the same mount, so you only need to stick one mount to your windscreen :-)
