Corsica & Sardinia 2026

Having been to both Corsica and Sardinia on a number of private tours, we felt it was time to find a way to offer these two amazing islands on a public tour, and so that’s what we’re doing.

It’s not an easy thing to do, to get there and get back, but the results are more than worth it, and you’ll have so much more fun on those mind bending roads than you would in a boring rental car. Come and see what all the fuss is about, you won’t regret it.

Sardinia is the very best of Italy, and Corsica is the very best of France – for so many reasons.

Itinerary:
Sunday – Come and meet your tour managers dockside in Portsmouth on this Sunday evening, as we prepare to cross the channel to start our journey to Italy.

Monday – An easy run on the French motorway network to Lyon.

Tuesday – Subject to weather conditions, we’ll head over the mountains near Frejus (utilising the Col du Mont Cenis if it’s open) on our way to Genoa in northern Italy where our ferry awaits.

Wednesday – We arrive bright and early in Olbia, northern Sardinia, and as soon as we’re off the ferry we’ll head out into the countryside and start exploring this magnificent island. It’s a full driving day today on the most amazing mountain roads through the heart of the island. Nobody ever comes this way, yet the views and the tarmac share equal billing. We’ll end the day near the southern end of the island, not far from Cagliari, in a beautiful beachside resort.

Thursday – An optional loop day today. Some may want to go for a swim, in the pool or the sea, whilst others may want to go to Cagliari and explore this breathtaking and historic city. There are also some good roads around here, and we’ll happily show you those too.

Friday – We’ll head north again today, along the eastern coast this time, to head back towards Olbia (where we arrived a few days ago). This is a more scenic drive in parts, but with some PHT diversions to enjoy the hills near the coast as well. This is more like the Pyrenees rather than Big Sur. Once again we’ll end up right by the beach at another wonderful hotel, where you can thoroughly enjoy the food as well as the atmosphere.

Saturday – Another optional loop day, this time at the northern end of Sardinia. Once again you have the opportunity to laze by the pool, or on the beach, or head in to Olbia and explore another historical gem. It’s more than just an airport and a ferry terminal. However, we’ll be heading out for a proper drive to see more of the island. Last chance really, as tomorrow we leave for Corsica.

Sunday – A short drive north to the coastal town of Santa Teresa Gallura, where we’ll have an hour or two to explore the town before we head down to the port and get onto the ferry to Corsica. It’s only a short ferry ride, under an hour in fact, and once we reach the other side you’ll marvel at the breathtaking port of Bonifacio. An hour or so from Bonifacio is our hotel for the next two nights, in the beautiful Porto Vecchio.

Monday – Once again we have an optional day of pool, beach, historical town, or driving. Maybe a bit of each? We can definitely recommend the drive, and we’ll make sure we’re back in time to enjoy some of the other stuff too.

Tuesday – We’ll head north today to Bastia, not the boring way of course but the fun way, as we see how the island changes from south to north. Corsica isn’t a large island, being only 114 miles long and 52 miles wide (Sardinia is 170 miles long and 90 miles wide) but you’ll see how the scenery changes as we head to the northeastern corner of the island.

Wednesday – One more day to explore the northern end of Corsica, but we have to be back in Bastia this afternoon for our overnight ferry to Toulon.

Thursday – We arrive in Toulon after breakfast, disembark, and immediately join the French motorway network and head north. Tonight we are aiming for Reims.

Friday – Our last run together, just a few short hours from Reims to the Eurotunnel at Calais, where we say our goodbyes and head for home. Enjoy your weekend!
